Maddie Balbarin

Maddie is a senior majoring in Physiology and Medical Sciences with an emphasis in Physiology and minoring in Biochemistry and EMS. Maddie is from Gilbert, Arizona and joined UAEMS in Spring 2025. Maddie is also involved in Arizona Ambassadors and a research lab on campus. In her free time, she enjoys trying out new craft projects, hitting the gym for a quick workout, hiking a new mountain down in Tucson, and experimenting with new recipes.

In her own words, “UAEMS has not only opened my eyes to the world of emergency medicine, but has also brought to me family and a sense of belonging. Coming to the University of Arizona, I never thought I would end up here, but I am forever grateful that I did. I went from quivering while taking a blood pressure as a baby EMT to running calls independently and teaching the next generation of EMTs, all thanks to this agency!”
