CPR Classes

At University of Arizona Emergency Medical Services, we strive to offer the most comprehensive and most up to date Basic Life Support (BLS) training available. We understand that depending on your profession and prior experience, you may have varying objectives with the training you receive. To help you meet your training goals, we offer two different CPR/BLS courses, both taught by our certified CPR instructors.

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Course

The AHA BLS course offers content that represents the latest resuscitation science for improved patient outcomes. It provides realistic scenarios, simulations, and animations depicting rescuers, teams, and patients, as well as allows for course and content flexibility for AHA Instructors and students.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?

  • Healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

  • Those who need ACLS & PALS

Applied Resuscitation Education & Specialty Training (AREST)

The AREST program teaches the new standard of CPR, one that is simple to learn, easy to do, saves more lives and makes mouth-to-mouth ventilation a thing of the past. This program emphasizes high fidelity practice and will enable you to act and make a life-saving difference in the life of another individual.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THE COURSE?

  • Both professionals and lay rescuers
  • Anyone who feels that the AHA course does not meet thier needs
