Sara Hammes

Sara is a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado. They are earning a BA in Live and Screened Performance with a minor in Emergency Medical Services. They joined UAEMS in Fall 2024, and have been a QI officer since Fall 2025. Outside of UAEMS, Sara enjoys theater carpentry, working on film sets, learning to play roller derby, and being a white water raft guide.

In their own words, “I absolutely love being an EMT. I knew I wanted to pursue theater early on in high school, but getting my EMT certificate opened an entirely new world to me. There’s no better feeling than seeing the impact I make on my peers after working a call. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to pursue both my passions.”
